About US

Free Construction Calculators Built for US Contractors and DIY Builders

An independent platform offering accurate, mobile-friendly concrete and material calculators for construction projects across the United States. Built and maintained by Muhammad Ramzan Babar, a PhD researcher in Plasma Physics, focused on giving you tools you can actually trust on the jobsite.

Why This Site Exists

ConcreteCalculate.com was launched in early 2024 to solve a specific problem: most online construction calculators are inaccurate, ad-cluttered, or built without a scientific background. The math is often wrong. The pricing data is outdated. The user experience on mobile is terrible.

I started building these tools because I needed better calculators for engineering projects and could not find any that were both accurate and easy to use. What started as a personal toolkit grew into a public resource for contractors, DIY builders, and engineers across all 50 US states.

The Philosophy: Every calculator on this site is built with verified formulas from ACI 318, ASTM standards, and CRSI references. The math is documented. The sources are cited. If you find an error, I want to know about it and will fix it within 48 hours.

About the Builder

Every calculator on ConcreteCalculate.com is researched, built, and maintained by one person. No anonymous team. No outsourced content farm. Just one PhD researcher focused on making accurate tools you can verify yourself.

Muhammad Ramzan Babar

PhD Researcher in Plasma Physics · Construction Calculator Developer

I am a PhD researcher in Plasma Physics at Hazara University, Mansehra, with active experimental research at Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad on Cathodic Cage Plasma Nitriding (CCPN) of steels. My background in applied physics and quantitative analysis means I take the math seriously. Every formula on this site is derived from first principles and cross-referenced against industry standards.

I am based in Pakistan but built ConcreteCalculate.com specifically for the US construction market because the existing tools online are often inaccurate or poorly designed. My ORCID iD (0009-0002-4235-909X) is publicly verifiable, and you can independently confirm my credentials via the LinkedIn and ORCID links above. If you spot a calculation error or have feedback, email me directly. I read every message and fix verified issues quickly.

What This Site Aims to Do

Provide accurate, free construction calculators that respect your time and do not waste it with ads, popups, or sign-up walls. The math should be right. The interface should work on a phone in direct sunlight. The pricing data should be current. That is the standard.

Why This Matters

Getting concrete estimates wrong costs real money. Order too much and you have wasted material. Order too little and you have got short-load fees plus a delayed pour. Most online calculators do not help you avoid these problems. They just give you a cubic yardage number with no context.

The calculators on this site try to give you actual decision-making information: bags vs ready-mix breakeven points, regional pricing, waste factor recommendations, structural load context, and delivery logistics.

Principles Behind These Tools

1

Math First

Every formula is derived from documented sources: ACI 318, ASTM, CRSI, IBC. If a calculation cannot be traced to an authoritative reference, it does not go on the site.

2

US Construction Focus

Imperial units, PSI ratings, US building codes, regional pricing. Built specifically for the American construction market.

3

Mobile-First

Most users calculate from job sites on their phones. Tools are designed for touch input with work gloves, fast loading on slow connections, and readability in sunlight.

4

Free to Use

No subscriptions, no premium tiers, no email walls. Funded by simple Google AdSense ads kept minimal so they do not slow the site down.

5

Actively Updated

Calculators are revised as standards change or when users report issues. Each updated calculator shows its last revised date.

6

Direct Contact

Email me directly with errors, suggestions, or feedback. No support ticket system, no automated replies. Just a real person who reads what you send.

How I Verify Calculator Accuracy

Quality Process

  • Source Citation: Every calculation is derived from documented references: ACI 318-19, ASTM standards, CRSI Manual, IBC 2024, or manufacturer specifications
  • Manual Verification: I work out example calculations by hand before publishing a calculator
  • Cross-Reference: Where possible, results are compared against industry calculation software
  • User Feedback: Reported errors are investigated within 24 hours
  • Standards Compliance: Formulas align with current ACI, ASTM, and IBC standards as referenced in each tool
  • Identity Verification: My ORCID iD (0009-0002-4235-909X) and LinkedIn profile are publicly verifiable, so you can independently confirm who is behind the calculations

What This Site Is NOT

  • A replacement for licensed structural engineering. For permitted construction work, calculations require verification by a licensed engineer per IBC 2024 Section 1604.
  • A pricing oracle. Regional pricing varies and ranges shown are estimates based on published data, not real-time supplier quotes.
  • A code reference. Always consult local building codes and authorities having jurisdiction for permit requirements.
Found an Error? Email ramzan@concretecalculate.com with the specific calculator, inputs used, and what seems incorrect. I investigate within 24 hours and fix verified issues quickly.
