Why This Site Exists
ConcreteCalculate.com was launched in early 2024 to solve a specific problem: most online construction calculators are inaccurate, ad-cluttered, or built without a scientific background. The math is often wrong. The pricing data is outdated. The user experience on mobile is terrible.
I started building these tools because I needed better calculators for engineering projects and could not find any that were both accurate and easy to use. What started as a personal toolkit grew into a public resource for contractors, DIY builders, and engineers across all 50 US states.

What This Site Aims to Do
Provide accurate, free construction calculators that respect your time and do not waste it with ads, popups, or sign-up walls. The math should be right. The interface should work on a phone in direct sunlight. The pricing data should be current. That is the standard.
Why This Matters
Getting concrete estimates wrong costs real money. Order too much and you have wasted material. Order too little and you have got short-load fees plus a delayed pour. Most online calculators do not help you avoid these problems. They just give you a cubic yardage number with no context.
The calculators on this site try to give you actual decision-making information: bags vs ready-mix breakeven points, regional pricing, waste factor recommendations, structural load context, and delivery logistics.

Every formula is derived from documented sources: ACI 318, ASTM, CRSI, IBC. If a calculation cannot be traced to an authoritative reference, it does not go on the site.

Most users calculate from job sites on their phones. Tools are designed for touch input with work gloves, fast loading on slow connections, and readability in sunlight.

No subscriptions, no premium tiers, no email walls. Funded by simple Google AdSense ads kept minimal so they do not slow the site down.

Calculators are revised as standards change or when users report issues. Each updated calculator shows its last revised date.

Quality Process
- Source Citation: Every calculation is derived from documented references: ACI 318-19, ASTM standards, CRSI Manual, IBC 2024, or manufacturer specifications
- Manual Verification: I work out example calculations by hand before publishing a calculator
- Cross-Reference: Where possible, results are compared against industry calculation software
- User Feedback: Reported errors are investigated within 24 hours
- Standards Compliance: Formulas align with current ACI, ASTM, and IBC standards as referenced in each tool
- Identity Verification: My ORCID iD (0009-0002-4235-909X) and LinkedIn profile are publicly verifiable, so you can independently confirm who is behind the calculations
What This Site Is NOT
- A replacement for licensed structural engineering. For permitted construction work, calculations require verification by a licensed engineer per IBC 2024 Section 1604.
- A pricing oracle. Regional pricing varies and ranges shown are estimates based on published data, not real-time supplier quotes.
- A code reference. Always consult local building codes and authorities having jurisdiction for permit requirements.
